The Miracle Morning Hal Elrod
I have lost count of how many books I reckon have changed my life. I guess they all have in a way, but none, not one, has had the effect The Miracle Morning The Six Habits That Will Transform Your Life Before 8.00am, has had.
Up at 7.00am
Imagine a book that has ensured retired gent is up at 7.00am most mornings even when there is no real reason to do so? I mean I have no JOB to go to, and very few meetings or appointments in the morning.
Of course, there is a reason, though, many of them in fact. They are all bound up with my WHY. What is my purpose in life and all the good stuff like that?
But this book, The Miracle Morning, and the routine or the 6 habits of the sub-title have resulted in a massive change in my lifestyle.
Early to Bed
Most evenings now, and for the last 60 days or so, I have managed to put myself to bed, to sleep, before midnight. (by about 11.30pm to be exact), and this in itself is a major change. I get about 7.5 hours of restful sleep and then up at 7.00am.
The 6 habits introduced in the book, defined by the acronym SAVERS, take me about 90 mins (adding in the initial glass of water, bathroom stop, face washing, teeth cleaning, mouth washing also included as necessary parts of the ritual in the book). Oh yeah, SAVERS stands for Silence, Affirmations, Visualisation, Exercise, Reading and Scribing. You can read about these in the book.
Then I am ready for breakfast and to kick start the day. I am so grateful for this book and the change already noticeable in my daily habits.
This has added some 2+ hours of useful time to each and every day I complete the routine. For a bloke who used to get up at 11.00am or so most mornings, this is epic. Add it up, my friends. Assuming 5 days per week and 48 weeks per year, that means for the next 20 years, (and at my age that might be all I have) I will be adding ONE extra year to my life. How cool is that?
As well as the book, there are bonus worksheets, affirmation and visualisation suggestions, a Facebook support group and a book club to join. This book is one of a whole collection. Much much more. See it to believe.
I could go on. I won’t. Just get the book. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY
